Acupuncture & Traditional East Asian Medicine
Acupuncture and Traditional East Asian medicine have been used for over 5,000 years and is the oldest continually used system of medicine in the world. Even though it has proven itself over and over again, it can be intriguing and sometimes misunderstood when looked at through a Western medical lens.
Erin used to be a science teacher and is naturally skeptical at heart. She didn’t just accept these beliefs and practices without many, many questions, debates and discussions with experts over the last decade.
Feel free to ask her perspective and how she came to realize that there is so much wisdom in learning about what other cultures have to contribute about how our bodies work. Erin enjoys bringing it all together and providing the very best care for your body.

Acupuncture is the ancient practice of the insertion of very fine needles into points along defined acupuncture channels which can rebalance disharmonies in the body.
The action of the needles affects the fluids and blood in the channels which in turn affect the entire body including the internal organs.
Each acupuncture point has a defined therapeutic action that can resonate with a disharmony and elicit a return to health.
A beautiful quote from The Web That Has No Weaver states,
“The needles can reduce what is excessive, increase what is deficient, warm what is cold, cool what is hot, circulate what is stagnant, move what is congealed, stabilize what is reckless, raise what is falling, and lower what is rising.”

Herbal Medicine
East Asian medicine practitioners have used all natural herbal formulas for thousands of years to treat countless human ailments.
Herbal medicine is used in many other nations around the world, but the practice in China is the most extensively documented and catalogued by far.
Herbal medicine doesn’t work by covering up or getting rid of symptoms. It gets to the root of your aggravations and disease.
Erin fell in love with herbal medicine, and now brings its natural benefits to you and your family.
If you are looking for natural alternatives to medications, please ask during your visit what she would recommend for you. Many herbs can be taken safely along with prescription medications. You should always work with your prescribing doctor before changing any medications.
Functional Labs
Erin is a primary care provider in Florida and can order your blood work for you. If you have recent blood work, you can upload it into your patient portal for her to review. She is trained to look at the results through a functional lens.
Conventional lab work ranges look for disease. This means if you are above or below a certain value, then you are in a diseased state.
Functional analysis looks at functional ranges rather than disease ranges. Looking at blood work this way and connecting the dots of where your body is above and/or below in certain areas is key to understanding the patterns in your body and what is happening. For optimal health, this is essential to understand prior to getting into a diseased state.
Community Acupuncture
Community acupuncture is an incredible way to experience acupuncture in an affordable setting. You will be with five to six other people in the same room, and the care will focus on stress relief.
Plan on your first visit lasting for about an hour, then subsequent visits are 30 - 40 minutes.
You will relax in a comfortable, zero-gravity chair as Erin places your needles. Feel free to bring a neck pillow and a throw if you’d like to get cozy.
It is very common to fall asleep during your treatment. Acunaps are soothing and restoring and allow your body and mind to rest and renew.
Community Acupuncture is now offered at Fit Mamas Tribe on Anastasia Island the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
